Explications sur les extremums.. (chapitre de maths sur les dérivées)? Bonjour,
Je suis en 1e S, j'ai un devoir dans quelques jours sur les dérivées. Je fais des exercices pour m'entraîner mais je bloque sur une question et je comprend mal les explications de mon cours.
"Montrer que la fonction f admet un minimum sur l'intervalle ]0;+infini["
La fonction en question: f(x)=x+1/x
Voila si vous pouviez me débloquer et m'expliquer également la notion de maximum et comment la trouver...

f(x) = x + (1/x)
f définie sur R / { 0 } ou, Df = ] -? ; 0 [ U ] 0 ; +? [
donc f dérivable sur Df en tant que somme et produit de fonctions dérivables.
f '(x) = 1 - (1/x²)
f '(x) = (x² - 1)/ x²
f '(x) = (x-1)(x+1)/ x²

On s'intéresse à l'intervalle ] 0 ; +? [
Donc,
Sur ] 0 ; 1 ], f '(x) ? 0 => f décroissante.
Sur ] 1 ; +? [, f'(x) > 0 => f strictement croissante.
Donc f admet un minimum en x = 1
Voilà la démonstration. Dire que la dérivée s'annule en x = 1 ne veut pas forcément dire que ça sera un minimum... Il se peut qu'une dérivée s'annule en plusieurs endroits induisant donc plusieurs minimum locaux mais un minimum ( et ça ne se voit pas forcément du premier coup d'oeil d'où une analyse simple et rapide à l'aide d'un tableau )
